With a total vicinity of 42 000 m2, SDTV Terminal occupies a quayside length of 390 meters covering berth 14th and 15th. Its Air draft of 13 meters corresponds to the height of the two vessels unloading shore NIVs. The Grain dedicated Berth 15th LOA is of 200 meters and its draft of 11.75 meters. The Fertilizer dedicated Berth 14th LOA is of 190 meters and a draft of 11.75 meters.
Each of the flat silos can accommodate up to four different products and/or different clients cargoes using removable concrete partition slabs. Operations process is monitored and set up by a central control room where operational data can be consulted at any time. The Unloading shore equipments
The two shore pneumatic unloaders
The two shore pneumatic unloaders have each an average capacity of
300 T/H and 8000 T/Day on average. These unloaders are dedicated to the discharge of grain through several belt conveyor systems sending cargo to bagging and/or silo.
Liebherr LHM 250
Grab crane has a lifting capacity of 69 MT operating a 21 MT per scoop achieving 600MT/Hour. This crane is more often used on the fertilizer. It discharges an average of 600MT/H OR 6000MT/Day for fertilizer and 8000MT/Day for other commodities. The crane also serves for the lifting of excavators and bulldozer required working on vessels hatches during operations.
The Bagging equipments
The fixed bagging lines
The bagging section which has 12 fixed bagging lines subdivided to grain
station 1 – 6 synchronized on direct ship discharge and silo option at nominal capacity of 60 MT/HR per Line and 6000 MT/Day on average and fertilizer station 7 – 12 synchronized on direct ship discharge line and silo option at nominal capacity of 45MT/HR Per Line and 4000 MT/Day on average.
The mobile bagging gantries
SDTV Terminal 2 Mobile Bagging Gantries are equipped with 3 bagging lines each releasing 20 bags of 50 kg per minute. Its unloads with 2 double hoisting rope Remote Controlled Grabs with tare of 7T on synchronized operation with vessel crane of SWL 25T for 8MT/cargo scoop. These units are for handling both grain and fertilizer. It can be used in SDTV berths or optional berth 13th upon Port authorization.
Grain silo bagging three fixed lines
The fixed bagging station located rear grain silo is dedicated to grain silo bagging and stacking on trucks. It has three lines that each bag 60 MT/H per line and 3000 MT/Day on average. It serves as a backup solution which creates the advantage of using flat bed silo by handling multiple client cargoes under segregation whilst vessel operation undergoes independently.
Discharge of Bulk Grain
The discharge of bulk commodities from vessels is fully automated under very close monitoring process in the control room that operates 24h daily (FHINC). Grain discharge operation is mainly managed by the two pneumatic Shore Unloaders each achieving 300 T/H or 8000 T/Day on average sent either to bagging station (direct delivery basis) lines 1 – 6 which are calibrated to 50 kg bags for bagging and stacking cargo on trucks. The system can be synchronized for the partial storage of the cargo in silo facility of 30.000 metric tons dedicated solely to grain.
Discharge of Bulk Fertilizer
The Fertilizer discharge starts with the LMH 250 Liebherr Shore Crane of 69T SWL and 21MT/Scoop grabs unloading 600MT/H on average for fertilizer and 8000MT/Day for other Commodities. The fertilizer station Belt Conveyor and the Rail Mounted Shore Gantry hoppers have full flexibility with the sequences of vessel-silo and bagging simultaneously set at 600 T/H and cargo transferred to the 40.000 Mt silo. Bagging Station Lines 7 – 12 can synchronized on direct ship discharge line and silo option at nominal capacity of 45MT/HR per Line and 4000 MT/Day on average.
